The SDLT 600A data tape storage system provides
direct access to metadata and allows clip access to content by
timecode. HD or SD content can be stored in MXF (Material Exchange
Format) which is emerging as the most broadly accepted digital video
storage format. Because many professional video solutions now
support MXF file formats, the content on Super DLTtape®
II cartridges can be shared between different
applications and devices making it an ideal exchange medium.
The SDLT
600A drive includes a gigabit Ethernet interface and a built-in FTP
server, so it can be network-attached and visible to every
workstation using standard browsers such as Windows Explorer®
or Safari®. The SDLT 600A can
be used in a standalone configuration or integrated into a variety
of robotic tape libraries. Each tape has its own file system and
directory and can be freely moved between libraries and standalone
drive configurations as well as pro video and broadcast facilities.
With this standard file system and MXF-aware file support, the SDLT
600A delivers a new level of transparent cross-platform and
cross-application storage solution.
